Mail

The UCC Mail module allows users to manage it's e-mail addresses within the ULYSSIS domain but also it's own virtual domains (e.g. example.org), if they are hosted at ULYSSIS: virtual domains are the personal domains of a user. The mail management page can be reached by clicking on the Mail link in the menu.

Na vele jaren QMail als de mailserver gebruikt te hebben gaat ULYSSIS overschakelen naar een nieuw op Postfix gebaseerd systeem. Dit heeft een aantal zeer grote implicaties maar dit is noodzakelijk om de explosieve groei van eigen domeinen van onze gebruikers beheersbaar te houden.

The fetchmail program offers POP and IMAP client facilities from your UNIX account: it can query POP/IMAP-servers and fetch new (or all) mail to your local account.

If you want to do a little more, eg. use procmail filters, you should set your mail to be delivered to your Inbox in UCC and then create a .forward file. Add this line to your .forward file:

"|IFS= && exec /usr/bin/procmail || exit 75 #username"

With username your username.

Retrieving mail with POP or IMAP

This is the classic way to handle a mail account.
Start you favourite email client and fill out mail.ulyssis.org as POP or IMAP server. You are encouraged to enable SSL to protect your password as it is being sent over the network.
